E8 - Project Manager (Malaria Consortium)

Malaria Consortium is one of the world’s leading non-profit organisations dedicated to the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria Consortium works with communities, government and non-government agencies, academic institutions, and local and international organisations, to ensure good evidence supports delivery of effective services, providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. The organisation works to improve not only the health of the individual, but also the capacity of national health systems, which relieves poverty and improves economic prosperity.

Malaria Consortium is currently recruiting a Project Manager to join our team in Maputo, Mozambique. The position holder will be responsible for leading and coordinating all project activities, leading on project reporting, overseeing project monitoring and evaluation, managing relationships with project partners and key stakeholders, managing the project budget and contributing to business development initiatives.

Qualifications

Degree in management, development or a related discipline;
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in management, operations and logistics, with demonstrated experience in donor budget management, reporting and coordinating field activities;
Experience working with government and non-government;
Experience preparing high quality donor reports.

Desirable

Experience on project related to malaria control or elimination, or health systems strengthening;
Experience managing projects with significant supply chain management component;
Experience working on Global Fund projects.

Skills

Excellent written and spoken English;
MS Office;
Excellent skills in report writing (for internal and donor reporting);
Excellent budget management skills;
Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment, to deadlines and tight timeframes;
Ability to develop clear work plans taking into consideration changing circumstances;
Ability to lead, motivate and coordinate a team of technical and non-technical staff.
