PSI Mozambique seeks a Gender and GBV Specialist to contribute to a World Bank-funded initiative under the EMPODERA program, which aims to improve the capacity of GBV service providers across Mozambique and advance survivor-centered, multisectoral response. This position is contingent upon funding approval.

The Gender and GBV Specialist ensures that all program activities, from training package design to field implementation, are grounded in a rigorous gender perspective and a genuine survivor-centered approach. They bring deep technical expertise in GBV prevention and response, including case management, psychosocial support, and community engagement, and play a central role in shaping the substantive content of training materials.

Principais Responsabilidades

• Integrate gender and survivor-centered frameworks across all phases of the consultancy, from diagnosis through to sustainability planning.
• Lead technical inputs on GBV/SEA/SH prevention and response, including protocol design, referral instruments, and psychosocial support approaches.
• Contribute to the design and review of training packages, ensuring alignment with national legislation and international instruments (including CEDAW and the Domestic Violence Law).
• Engage with communities, CSOs, and women’s groups to support participatory design and ground-level validation of program materials.
• Support the development and delivery of training on gender, protection, and safeguarding for diverse provider groups.
• Provide technical input to public policy recommendations and the institutionalization strategy for training packages.

Requisitos

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Sociology, Human Rights, or a related field; Master’s an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in GBV/SEA/SH prevention and response, including direct work on case management and psychosocial support for survivors.
• Demonstrated participation in the development or review of gender public policies or national GBV response protocols.
• Experience in community engagement and empowerment of women and girls.
• Deep knowledge of national and international instruments (e.g., Domestic Violence Law, CEDAW, Conventions)
• Ability to develop training packages on gender, protection, and safeguards.
• Experience in advocacy and awareness-raising with community leaders and CSOs.
• Intercultural communication skills with vulnerable populations.
• Fluency in Portuguese required; English desirable; knowledge of local languages an advantage.
