Project Assistant (Short Term-Contract)
Background
GOOD NEIGHBORS is an international humanitarian development NGO bringing Good Change for children and communities around the world through community development projects and social welfare program in order to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony
Good Neighbors Mozambique (GNMOZ) has been providing a response to the communities impacted by Cyclone IDAI and flooding since April, 2019. GNMOZ intervened in the area of Shelter and WASH in Dondo and Nhamatanda district, Sofala province and for the last 3 months, GNMOZ provided 10 compartment VIP toilets for 6 schools in Nhamatanda district in order to protect children from water-borne disease.
In this time, GNMOZ continues to design the project for the rehabilitation of school classrooms damaged by Cyclone IDAI as below:
• Location: Nhamatanta District and Beira
• Main activity: Rehabilitation of school classroom
• Period: 1st, October, 2019 ~ 31st, January 2020 (4 months)
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting field monitoring for the process of construction
2. Communicating with local government and attending stakeholder meeting
3. Submitting meeting reports and other monitoring reports
4. Supporting logistic and administration process
5. Responsible for qualified tasks instructed by the Project manager
Qualification:
– Mozambican Nationality
– Above diploma or bachelor school degree
– Good communication skill written and oral (Portuguese, English and local language)
– Computer literacy and good documentation skills
– Willingness to travel to rural area
Preference
– Basic knowledge and experience of construction process
– School degree related to the duties such as development, sociology, architectural engineering etc.
– A minimum of 2 years of related-experience in humanitarian development field
