Health Systems Specialist Tempo Inteiro

The Health System Specialist will be responsible for providing direct management guidance for country, and occasionally above-country health system strengthening implementation (in particular the upSCALE platform), including the collaborations with external groups to support the process of scaling up; the projection of scale-up costs, and the development of a financial plan for securing and managing funds over the long term; identification of the steps needed to optimise the platform for scaling up based on its user base, purpose, integration with information systems and compatibility with other components of the information systems architecture; and organisational and programmatic measures for supporting the implementation, use and maintenance of the product throughout the scaling-up process.

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery, a Masters’ degree in public health, or in a related field
• Extensive senior-level experience in project management in malaria or other public health programs;
• Substantial experience working with health systems strengthening in developing and transition countries, both at central and provincial levels.
• Substantial experience implementing public health programs, with some of that experience in malaria control in Mozambique or other parts of Africa.
• Experience and understanding of the Mozambique health systems context.
• Experience in planning, implementation, data management, of a large, multi-year project.
• Must be able to read and write in English with professional proficiency.
• Must be able to read and write in Portuguese with professional proficiency.

This position is dependent on Malaria Consortium securing a forthcoming grant.
