Position Title: ICT Assistant
General Service, Grade: G-4
Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term Graded Contract, 6 (six) months with the possibility of extension.

Context:
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency is a dynamic and growing inter-governmental organization, with 172 member states. IOM is committed to the principle that “humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society”. Established in 1951 and now active in over 440 field locations worldwide, IOM works with partners, government and civil society to promote international cooperation to address operational challenges of migration and mobility, assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems, and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people. IOM addresses the migratory phenomenon from an integral and holistic perspective, including links to development, in order to maximize its benefits and minimize its negative effects.
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Sub Office, in close coordination with ICT Assistant and Resources Management Officer in Maputo and the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, support and implementation of the IT Infrastructure in IOM Pemba Sub Office.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Provide onsite /remote end-user support to IOM Staff.
2. Assist in the monitoring and administration of LAN, Internet Connectivity and equipment.
3. Support in maintenance of present and upcoming ITC Equipment.
4. Implement configuration of desktops and laptops for IT Services based on the latest IOM ITC Standard.
5. Virus detection, removal and prevention for all systems. This will involve assurance of deployment of the latest Anti-Virus signatures for data protection.
6. Support in the management of overall tracking system for the ITC Equipment Inventory.
7. Support in the administration and maintenance of the radio and telecommunication equipment.
8. Support IOM staff in the utilization of relevant IOM corporate applications (MiMOSA, iGator, PRISM, etc) and provide onsite end-user support to IOM Staff for helpdesk support when required.
9. Develop and implement when necessary, ITC training to end users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.
10. Regularly report needs and progress on ITC Issues in his/her area of responsibility.
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
· University degree from an accredited academic institution in Computer Science with minimum two years of relevant work experience or;
· Minimum completed High School degree with certification in computer science with at least four years of relevant work experience.
Experience
· Has relevant professional experience, particularly in the areas of helpdesk, LAN, database management and programming;
· Experience in IOM ICT Administration and management is an advantage.
· Experience in managing a medium to large scale systems/networking environment with at least three years of experience providing Tier-1 or Tier-2 level of end-user support;
· Some experience in the design/implementation/administration of a multi-site implementation of Exchange 2003/2010/2016;
· Knowledge of Exchange 2003/2010/2016 Server design/implementation a plus; Experience configuring/implementing/administering Windows 2000, Window 2003, Windows 2008 and Active Directory Servers and services;
· knowledge of anti-virus/content filtering software deployment/support;
· Ability to provide end-user support to messaging clients;
· Must possess an in-depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Designer 2010 with a thorough knowledge of architectural design, web parts development, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations;
· MCTS SharePoint 2010 with experience in managing information management a distinct advantage.
Skills
· Has progressive experience in networking environment (LAN/WAN) and Motorola VHF and Codan HF Network.
· Experience with Windows Server software in a multi-site environment, TCP/IP, MS Office, Antivirus Software and IT Utilities.
· Experience with HP/Compaq, Dell, IBM and Cisco Equipment
Languages
Fluency in English and Portuguese both written and spoken is required.
