Síntese Azul is recruiting for its client High Commission of Canada in Maputo, a Property and Materiel Agent.
Duties
Under the supervision of the Property and Materiel Manager, the Assistant determines service requirements to meet the needs of the mission and of all Crown-held properties;
Develops a program, and leads its implementation, for the purchasing of all materiel and its receipt, storage, distribution and disposal, as well as for the maintenance, repair, upkeep and security of all properties;
Develops and maintains working relations with appropriate suppliers and contractors and liaises with owners of leased properties as instructed by the supervisor;
Controls and organizes the maintenance of mission Hospitality equipment and pack-up kits;
Creates, maintains, and gathers data for the development of the mission budgets for property and materiel management; and
Performs other duties.
Requisites
Language profile
Excellent spoken and written English;
Excellent spoken and written Portuguese;
Spoken and written French is a plus.
Education
Secondary school (grade 12-equivalent) or technical school successfully completed.
Experience
Experience in customer service and/or work in a client-focused environment;
Experience in supervising, managing or executing technical work or manual labour, including construction, electrical and plumbing repairs is a plus.

Operational Requirements
Overtime, often on short notice, might be required to deal with emergencies;
Weekend work, while minimal, might be required with some notice;
The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license for light vehicles.
