Quantity Surveyor (Human Capital Moz) – Cabo Delgado

Minimum job grade: Supervisor

Job Purpose

• During the project execution phase at the WORKSITE, quantity surveyors;
• Monitor quantities in order to support progress certification;
• Advise on the quantity of materials to be considered for specific activities;
• Certify progress claims / payments to CONTRACTORS against work completed;
• Keep trace ability of any variations to the contract that may affect costs.

Main responsibilities

• Accurate evaluation and control of construction works material and costs;
• Evaluation of the works in terms off inalcosts and effective progress.

Key activities

• Monitor progress soft he ongoing activities;
• Validate Suppliers’/Contractors’ invoices;
• Support tendering and contract documents development, collecting quantities from drawings,sketches and specifications prepared by designers;
• Support the development of project reports;
• Gives up portifrequested on procurement plans;
• Provide advice on quantities matters for contractual claims if requested;
• Monitors and control changes during execution phase;
• Main Internal Interfaces;
• Engineering team;
• Construction team;
• Commissioning team;
• Expediter;
• HSE team;
• Quality team;
• Project Service team;
• Main External Interfaces;
• Equivalent contractors & subcontractors position.

Education

• Technical diploma (Engineering degree preferred).

Training and Courses

• Quality assurance course (preferred).

Languages

• Intermediate knowledge English;
• Fluent knowledge of the local language preferred;
• Required knowledge,technical or professional skills;
• General Organisation Processes:project organisation,Internal procedures;
• Feed-backflow organization and circulation,Documentation management;
• HSE Compliance :knowledge of Environment Health Safety,Safety at work sites, Ethic code;
• Specific knowledge :Inspection performing ,Quantities measurement and accounting;
• Progress and variations evaluation,ability to review engineering documentation.
