Responsible for the development and performance of ALL sales activities. Recruit and direct a sales team, providing leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision. Establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base and product lines.
Responsibilities:
Develop plans and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability;
Maintain sales staff results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising results;
Prepares action plans for individual reps to effectively prospect for new business;
Conduct daily one-on-one reviews with all sales reps to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs and to provide insight for the improvement of the sales reps’ performance;
Control and plan daily call sheets for effective coverage of current and future clients;
Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance of sales staff;
Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales and activity reports;
Establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition and supply and demand;
Assist sales reps in preparation of proposals and presentations to clients;
Explore tele-sales and tender opportunities;
Initiate and coordinate action plans to penetrate new markets;
Assist office manager on a weekly basis with debtors control;
Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
Relationships and Roles:
Ensure that all sales reps meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes;
Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up;
Set examples for sales reps in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills and work habits;
Conduct regular coaching and counselling with sales reps to build motivation and selling skills;
Where necessary maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction;
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
