Sacos de Matutuine, S.A. (“SAMA”) is looking for a Senior Electrician/ Electronics Technician – Industrial Production Machinery Maintenance (Woven Sack Manufacturing).

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrician/Electronics Technician to manage, maintain, and repair the complete electrical systems, machinery, and infrastructure in our production facility. This includes machinery for the manufacturing of woven sacks for the cement and food industries, with a focus on equipment supplied by Starlinger (Austria). The role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems, industrial electronics, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all production machinery, including Starlinger extrusion systems, weaving machines, and cutting, stitching and printing equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic issues in machinery, control panels, and facility power systems.
• Handle complex electronic components, including sensors, transistors, PLCs, and actuators, to ensure seamless operation.

Infrastructure Oversight:

• Maintain and repair all facility electrical systems, including power distribution lines, transformers, circuit breakers, and backup systems.
• Ensure the reliability and safety of all electrical infrastructure supporting the production floor.

Machine Optimization:

• Analyze machine performance data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Calibrate and fine-tune electrical and electronic systems to optimize machinery performance and product quality.

Installation & Commissioning:

• Lead the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and machinery.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to integrate advanced technologies and ensure seamless operations.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical systems comply with local and international safety standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Documentation & Training:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical systems, maintenance schedules, and repair logs.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and machine operators on safe and effective electrical practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background:

• Degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Industrial Maintenance.

Experience:

• Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in maintaining industrial machinery, specific expertise in equipment used for woven sack production would be a strong advantage as prior experience with Starlinger machinery.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled systems, electronic circuits, and power systems.
• Knowledge of industrial automation, servo motors, drives, and wiring systems.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communicator, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Requirements:

• Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices in industrial operations.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or on-call as required.
