Country and project background
Malaria Consortium began working in Mozambique in 2005, supporting the development of distribution systems for long lasting insecticidal nets in the country. Malaria Consortium Mozambique has 4 operating offices, located in Maputo (Head Office), Inhambane, Nampula and Niassa, with allocated projects.
Malaria Consortium is currently recruiting a Upscale Project Technical Coordinator to join our team in Maputo, Mozambique. The position will involve technical oversight of malaria prevention and treatment services by working closely with and through provincial and districts authorities and local non-government entities to implement and manage malaria control interventions to achievement of strategic priorities.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential:
A Masters’ degree in public health, or in a related field;
Extensive senior-level experience in project management in malaria or other public health programs;
Substantial experience working with public health programs in developing and transition countries, both at central and provincial levels;
Substantial experience implementing public health programs, with some of that experience in malaria control in Mozambique or other parts of Africa;
Experience and understanding of the Mozambique health systems context;
Experience in planning, implementation, data management, of a large, multi-year project.
Desirable:
Previous experience working on a USAID-funded health program;
Strong background in malaria epidemiology;
Experience with and research/study analysis and interpretation preferred;
Strong experience in results dissemination and publication;
Proven track record in designing disease control programmes;
Experience in grant proposal writing;
Experience in stakeholder mapping, analysis and engagement.
