Technician Mechanical – Auto Supervisor (RHDC) Tempo Inteiro

Our Customer is a Container handling’s company and its core business is to generate more than three quarters of its revenue. The company constantly invests in terminal infrastructure, facilities and people to provide quality services today and tomorrow, when and where customers need them. It has large offices in Mozambique. Due to its development, intends to recruit, Technician Mechanical – Auto Supervisor – Maputo.

Job Purpose

• Provide efficient and economical mechanical maintenance service for auto equipments by carrying out tasks defined by Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for safety & discipline in work area;
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the auto equipment and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by Supervisor;
• Ensure maximum operational availability of cranes by diagnostic work and repair methods;
• Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults;
• Assume additional responsibility for auto equipment maintenance in the absence of Supervisor;
• Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Supervisor;
• Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures;
• Ensure that all preventive maintenance (mechanical) is conducted as defined in the system; Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required;
• Attend breakdowns as reported by Planning & Admin Clerk on immediate basis;
• Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system; Conduct maintenance activities as per defined timelines;
• Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with planning clerk) for all mechanical work performed on the auto equipment;
• Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity;
• Obtain approval of supervisor before making purchase requisition and submitting to stores;
• Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Education: Grade 12 with specialization in mechanical systems. Preferable: Diploma in mechanical engineering;
• Mandatory: 2 to 3 years’s experience; Able to trouble shoot/resolve the problem;
• Able to control/change wire rope; Able to repair gear box oil leakage;
• Able to repair/change hydraulic cylinders; Able to repair different brands of gear box/engine; Able to follow/control PM plan; Able to read hydraulic diagram;
• Able to repair pneumatic system; Experience in container in sea port and/ or heavy equipment environment;
• Preferable experience in working on heavy equipment in ports, mining, steel industries;
• Detailed knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, brakes etc. Conversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawings;
• Fully conversant with safety procedures;
• Fluent in English is an advantage;
