CARE Internacional, a development and humanitarian organization in Mozambique since 1986 with offices in more than 70 countries and part of a large international federation seeks to hire dynamic and experienced professionals, WASH Advisor based in Mozambique – Nampula.
The WASH Advisor provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and support in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects. This role will lead the learning agenda within the WASH components, ensuring that lessons learned from past and ongoing projects are systematically documented, analyzed, and applied to improve program effectiveness and drive innovation in the sector.
The WASH Advisor is responsible for ensuring that WASH interventions meet high-quality standards, comply with donor and organizational requirements, and address the needs of target communities in both emergency and development settings. This includes ensuring the integration of WASH standards and innovations into project design and implementation, supporting the learning agenda, and promoting sustainability.
The WASH Advisor will provide advisory support, capacity building, and technical guidance to both CARE staff and partners. They will ensure that WASH components are aligned with donor and organizational requirements, and that the needs of vulnerable communities, particularly with a focus on gender-sensitive approaches, are addressed. Success in this role will be measured by the effective integration of WASH across CARE’s programs, the development of knowledge-sharing mechanisms for continuous improvement, and the establishment of strong relationships with key stakeholders in the sector.
