Johanniter International Assistance is recruiting a Cleaner.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Overall job purpose

The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring that Office is always clean and support the administration in ensuring health and safety is a priority in the work place.

Reporting lines

• Reporting to: Administrative Officer / HR Officer.
• Supervising: N/A.
• Receives technical advice from: Admin Officer.
• Gives technical advice to: N/A.
• Standing in for: N/A.
• Replaced by: Temporary Cleaner.

Tasks

Strategy and Vision

• Actively supports the values of Johanniter and shapes his/her work according to these values.
• Contributes to the development and implementation of the global strategy of Johanniter International Assistance in his/her area of responsibility.
• Supports the implementation of the country strategy in his/her area of responsibility in line with the global JIA strategy.

Leadership

• Actively lives the Johanniter’s leadership principles by fostering trust, embracing diversity, communicating openly, supporting wellbeing, and taking responsibility to contribute to a positive, inclusive, and adaptable work environment. This is reflected in the day-to-day activities in line with the Code of Conduct and related policies to achieve our goals.

Office cleaning

• Cleaning of Johanniter’s office.
• Disposal of waste.
• Cleaning the Compound if any.
• Watering the Compound garden if any.
• Disinfection of surfaces against any dieses for example COVID-19.
• Washing windows and shutters, drains, grease traps and sewers, as well as unclogging sinks and drains.
• Providing the toilets with towels, soap and toilet paper, removing those that have already been used.

Admin support

• Carrying out all operations relating to moving furniture and equipment, under direct guidance.
• Support Administering the stocks of cleaning materials.
• Informing the immediate boss of any irregularities found in the facilities on the work premises.
• Perform other tasks of the same nature and level of complexity associated with the organisational environment.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the Administrative Officer.

Safeguarding

• Contributes actively to the implementation of the JIA Code of Conduct and all safeguarding policies.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality at all times if you come aware of any safeguarding issue.
• Does not take any step to investigate any known safeguarding incident or rumour.
• Report any safeguarding rumour and incident.
• Disseminate Johanniter’s position of zero tolerance as well as policies to all stakeholders (People we work with) at all levels.

Person Specification

Professional Qualification and Experience:

Essential:

• 10th grade of education.
• Able to perform cleaning activities.
• Able to read and write.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in doing cleaning for organizations or companies is an advantage.

Skills

• Working proficiency in Portuguese.
• Strong organization skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Honest and organised.
