The UNICEF is hiring a Finance Assistant.
UNICEF works to promote and protect the rights of every child, with a particular focus on children and families who are most disadvantaged and excluded. Guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF works to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to survive, develop, and reach their full potential.
In Mozambique, UNICEF is strengthening its finance operations to ensure timely and efficient support to programme delivery for children. The Finance team requires additional support to improve the processing and monitoring of VAT refund claims, Direct Cash Transfers (DCTs), invoices, advances, and related financial documentation. This assignment will contribute to improved VAT compliance and recovery, reduced processing backlogs, and stronger financial records management.
The Finance Assistant will be based in Maputo, Mozambique, working under the direct supervision of the Finance Officer/Specialist and in coordination with the Finance and Administrative Unit. The role will provide finance and administrative support with a strong focus on VAT refund processing, invoice and DCT registration, advances, reconciliations, and maintaining complete and audit-ready financial documentation.
