Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Coordinators
The High Commission of Canada in Mozambique is seeking to recruit three country coordinators for Mozambique, Eswatini and Malawi. Successful bidders will oversee the CFLI for the 2019-2020 funding cycle.
The High Commission of Canada in Mozambique administers the CFLI in Mozambique, Malawi, and Eswatini. The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries, which align with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. The program is directed at projects conceived and designed predominantly by local partners. Projects are selected and approved by the relevant embassy or high commission of Canada. The CFLI also serves to support positive bilateral relations between Canada and recipient countries and their civil societies, by deepening contacts and supporting local endeavours.
The coordinator operates under the direction of the Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service (FPDS) program manager (Political Counsellor) at the High Commission of Canada.

These are qualifications that are not essential to perform the work associated with the contract but that would benefit the organization or enhance the work to be performed currently or in the future.
The value of the contracts for each of the country coordinator shall not exceed the following amounts:
This remuneration includes costs associated with bank transfer fees and/or currency conversion, office space, telephone, internet costs, etc. but excludes travel costs incurred by the Coordinator to visit projects in the countries eligible for CFLI funding under their mandates. The costs of pre-approved local and regional travel for the purpose of visiting and monitoring projects will be covered by the High Commission of Canada in Mozambique.
From August 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020, with a possibility to extend to further year ending May 31, 2021. Work is not expected to be full-time for the duration of the contract.
Candidates must provide a two-page-maximum condensed CV and one-page-maximum covering letter outlining how they meet the qualifications and other criteria above. Candidates should demonstrate with clear examples how they meet all the essential (and asset, if applicable) qualifications for this position.
