Based in Maputo, you will support officials at central and provincial level to implement reforms based on our previously successful model. This implementation uses technology and data to help managers and leaders take rapid action to improve health outcomes by providing better public services.
This work in Mozambique will involve supporting officials at central and provincial levels to implement a customised version of our reform model, which involves using technology and data to help managers and leaders take rapid action to improve the healthcare system. We have spent time with them on the ground already this year, and there is a very high level of excitement and engagement around this project. Our team for this work is planned to consist of five people; three based in Mozambique and two more senior consultants who will oversee the work.
The schedule of the project will enable the role holder to travel back to their home Country 1 week in every 4 if so desired and these travel expenses (flights) would be covered by Acasus.
Acasus (www.acasus.com) is a consultancy dedicated to helping governments implement transformational reforms in health and education. Our goal is to improve public health and education for those who need it the most. In just five years, Acasus has developed a strong reputation supporting governments across Asia, Africa and South America.
We work in small teams which support the most senior officials in government (typically at ministerial or prime-ministerial level) to drive rapid reforms. Much of our day-to-day work involves helping officials to:
Our project teams include a mix of experienced consultants from leading international consultancies (e.g. McKinsey, Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger and others) and highly talented locally-hired staff. Our success depends on being able to attract good people and provide them with high quality professional development.
It is hard to overstate the potential impact of this work. In Pakistan, the team achieved the fastest vaccination rate increase ever recorded — raising coverage for life-saving vaccines for children from around 50% to 90% across the more than 2 million children born each year in Punjab province.
An international organization has asked Acasus to replicate this success across multiple countries in Africa starting with DRC and Mozambique and our work in DR Congo kicked off recently and is already proving highly effective.
