In Mozambique, Acted has played an active role in responding to the multiple crises affecting the country, including forced displacement, food insecurity, natural disasters, and the growing impact of climate change. Acted’s integrated approach combines emergency assistance with resilience and development programming, working in close collaboration with local communities, government authorities, and humanitarian partners.
Under the supervision of the Country Director (CD), the Security Officer (SO) is responsible for overseeing daily security management of all Acted and IMPACT staff, premises, and project sites, and performing ongoing monitoring and assessments of the security situation in country. The SO will review and implement the organization’s security management guidelines and protocols and ensure overall compliance. In addition, the SO will be responsible for providing context analyses as needed, validating and closely monitoring movements, checking risky routes before and during movements, and negotiating access. He/She will represent Acted in humanitarian security coordination forums and working groups, advise the CD on all issues of safety and security, and provide staff with appropriate security training and mentoring.

Eligibility
ACTED’s greening strategy aims to combat environmental degradation and climate change while simultaneously addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, who are often the most affected by the worsening environmental crisis. Each ACTED staff member is expected to uphold these principles through the following key greening programming responsibilities:
The candidate is responsible for adhering to ACTED’s policy on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH). The candidate will be required to complete all mandatory trainings related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEAH policy, and to report any protection concerns, including breaches of organisational policies or codes of conduct, in line with ACTED’s procedures. The candidate is mandated to carry out their duties in a manner that does not cause harm to children, vulnerable adults, or other staff and volunteers.
