The SGS is hiring a Senior Contract Administrator/ Senior Cost Controller Office.

About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator/ Senior Cost Controller to join a major LNG project based in Maputo, Mozambique. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with strong expertise in contract management, project controls, cost monitoring, and commercial administration within large-scale Oil & Gas, LNG, EPC, or infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring effective contract administration, cost control, forecasting, and commercial compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration

• Administer EPC, subcontractor, and supplier contracts in accordance with project requirements.
• Review, interpret, and monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, and milestones.
• Manage change orders, contract amendments, claims, and variations.
• Support commercial negotiations and dispute resolution activities.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and project procedures.
• Prepare contractual correspondence and maintain accurate contract documentation.

Cost Control

• Develop and maintain project cost control systems and reporting tools.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Analyze cost variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and management presentations.
• Track project progress against approved budgets and schedules.
• Support project management with accurate financial and commercial insights.

Project Controls & Reporting

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams.
• Review contractor progress and verify invoices/payment applications.
• Ensure timely reporting of project risks and opportunities impacting costs.
• Contribute to project performance reviews and management decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Contract Administration and/or Cost Control roles.
• Proven experience on LNG, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, EPC, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of contract types (Lump Sum, Reimbursable, Unit Rate, EPC/EPCM).
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• Knowledge of claims management, variations, and commercial negotiations.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, SAP, Excel, Power BI, or similar project controls tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Portuguese language skills will be an advantage.
