Senior Financial Controller Tempo Inteiro

Sacos de Matutuine, S.A. (“SAMA”), the first Mozambican-based state-of-the-art producer of woven plastic bags for the cement and food industry, a Maputo-incorportated manufacturing company producing woven plastic fabrics (bags) for the cement and food industry in its Matutuine factory is looking for a Senior Financial Controller.

The highly-experienced financial controller is responsible for set-up and operations of annual budgeting & planning, quaterly forecasting, ongoing production controlling and management reporting. This role involves implementation of PRIMAVERA systems.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Analysis:

• • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial statements and management
    reports.
• Cost Control & Analysis:
  • Oversee cost controlling processes, inventory, and variances to identify efficiency opportunities., including production cost analysis and overhead management.
  • Establish robust costing systems and provide recommendations for cost optimization (in close cooperation with Procurement Manager).
  • Partner with operations teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Process Improvement:
  • Streamline financial processes and controls to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive the implementation of advanced financial systems and tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and recommend workflow improvements.

• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure competitiveness.

Qualifications & Skills

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant international experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and financial modelling.
• Additional procurement experience might create an even bigger role.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English.
• A hands-on approach, with the ability to operate independently in a 1-person unit role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (ideally PRIMAVERA; SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and deliver results under tight deadlines.
