A TJ Consultants is recruiting a Laboratory Technician, to be based in Ressano Garcia.
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible to perform technical work in chemical, biological and physical testing and analysis in a sewage treatment, water treatment and power plant laboratory. Is also responsible for performing analytical tests, collecting samples, preparing specimens and solutions, operating water treatment plant, calibrating and maintaining instruments and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate the water treatment plant including related subsystems and instrumentation;
- Make visual inspections of facility equipment;
- Monitor water quality by performing laboratory tests at various stages in the treatment process and calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain records;
- Monitor the quality of delivered new lubricating oil;
- Monitor the engine cooling water, raw water, treated water, sewage/waste water and drinking water;
- Carry out the daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of parameters;
- Develop written operating procedures;
- Make flow adjustments;
- Report in weekly, monthly and annual base in regard all activities;
- Forecast requirements for consumables at laboratory and chemicals;
- Perform related duties as required.
Requisites
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering or relative area;
- Minimum 5 years in the field in an industrial complex – Decisive condition;
- Fluent in English;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office package.
