The Compliance Assistant will assist the Compliance department in implementing and maintaining a robust and effective compliance programme.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, and are not limited to, the following:
Analyse and identify the implications that the new laws, decrees notices of the Bank of Mozambique and other legislative diplomas have for the company;
Assist in auditing and identifying existing information for accuracy and errors for compliance programs;
Assist in designing and maintaining existing programs by developing or editing forms for compliance programs;
Identify and support the implementation of operational solutions that can help reduce regulatory risk;
Assist in developing written instructions and training documents for required programs as directed;
Identify areas of vulnerability in compliance and the risks;
Maintain physical and electronic archiving of all legal documents in a safe/contract database to ensure completeness of all contracts and other records;
Support optimization of existing processes in the Compliance Function;
Monitoring compliance through various means including sampling;
Assist the Chief Compliance Officer on the follow up in the implementation of the various compliance projects;
Prepare compliance files, perform compliance due diligence searches, schedule compliance trainings and meetings, and assist with the management and implementation of compliance projects and initiatives;
Uses various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports;
Update and maintain internal policies and procedures;
Act as the point of contact for internal departments;
Liaise with executive and senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from senior managers;
Assist with monthly and quarterly reports;
Maintenance of corporate licenses and authorizations;
Support to the Legal department which will include scheduling of Board and Committee meetings, preparation of Board materials and presentations, maintenance of corporate books and records, organization and maintenance of various paper and electronic filing systems, read and route incoming mail, and arrange and coordinate travel.

Profile
Degree in Law;
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Bank Compliance area.
