VACANCY FOR CONSULTANT (HEALTH SECTOR)

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a South-Korean government agency responsible for implementing grant aid and technical cooperation of the Republic of Korea, in order to support the socioeconomic development of its partner countries. KOICA currently has 45 offices worldwide, including an office in Mozambique established in March 2011.

Description

KOICA Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of local consultant in the health sector. The consultant is expected to identify and formulate new projects based on the needs of and aligned with the policies and strategies of the Mozambican Government and collaborate/communicate with the relevant Ministry or institutes in areas of maternal health care and infectious diseases such as COVID 19, and others.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field and minimum 5 years of work experience. Candidates with a Master’s degree or above should have a minimum of 3 years of work experience;
• Experience of project design, implementation and monitoring at government organizations, international organizations, donor agencies and NGOs;
• Knowledge of English and Portuguese, fluent in spoken and written English;
• Good computer skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office package and other applications of wide usage);
• Impeccable level of integrity and confidentiality;
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Duties

• The consultant shall conduct reference surveys, interviews, meetings as well as write project proposals in the health care sector;
• Make various reports in the health care sector and submit to the KOICA Mozambique office;
• The incumbent may need to travel to candidate project sites to conduct a field survey, if necessary, including providing support to a foreign specialist who will lead the preliminary survey for a project. The consultant may perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
